CP/M Emulator for MSDOS by DYNACOMP, Inc.

Will run in an MSDOS window [click here for MSDOS NOTES] under Windows.

Now you can use old 8080 and Z80 CP/M software on your MS DOS machine! The CP/M EMULATOR allows you to run Osborne, Kaypro, etc., software as long as it does not do things specific to hardware (like look at the ROM, monkey with the BIOS, etc.), or depend on specific screen cursor controls. For example you can run CP/M MICROSOFT BASIC, CBASIC, EBASIC, MULTIPLAN, etc. on the IBM. That means you can run BASIC programs which were written on CP/M systems directly on your MSDOS machine, with little or (usually) no modification.

The cursor-control limitations are simple. Although the CP/M EMULATOR recognizes line feeds, carriage returns, etc., it may not recognize cursor control (up, down, left, right, and so on) or clear-screen codes that may be imbedded in your CP/M programs. These may show up as odd characters on an MS DOS system. Thus, if you do not like scrolling, you may have to go into your BASIC programs (for example) and replace a clear-screen com mand with a series of line feeds. For machine language (.COM files), you may have to live with the scrolling.

Do you have CP/M programs that you want to run on your PC? CP/M EMULATOR is the simplest solution.

The CP/M files must be moved to an MSDOS format disk to be read (use SMARTDISK, described elsewhere).
