HEAT LOSS BUILDING HEAT TRANSFER
HEAT LOSS uses ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers) methods to calculate the heat losses through various parts of a building: roof, walls, doors, etc. Window, door, and lower areas are automatically subtracted from wall areas, and the heat loss for each element is calculated and summed for room and building totals. Room infiltration and ventilation loads are also calculated, along with the overall building heat-loss coefficients required by some state energy codes.
HEAT LOSS is intended to be used by heating design engineers, building contractors, architects and engineering students. While most aspects of the design process are explained, additional information from a source such as the ASHRAE "Handbook of Fundamentals" would be required for actual design work. For example, "R" values are needed.
HEAT LOSS provides for storing and retrieving data, reviewing and changing of individual rooms or room elements, and printing out results. It will handle up to two hundred rooms.
